About Five Star Driver Education Center

Five Star proudly boasts combined over 75 years of experienced drivers working with students! We offer the most experienced and knowledgeable team to meet all of your driver's education needs. All of our instructors are educators who care about students and have career experience working with teenagers.

Brent Tinder (Owner, Behind-the-Wheel Instructor): Brent is a physical education teacher at Muncie Northside Middle School with thirteen years of experience as a driver's education instructor. Brent is a graduate of Anderson Highland High School and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Ball State University. Brent and his wife, Liz, became the owners of Five Star in June 2016. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.

Cindy Glaze (Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel Instructor): Cindy teaches physical education in the Delaware Community Schools corporation at Albany and Eaton Elem. schools. She is a graduate of Hagerstown HS and Ball State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Ed./Physical Education (all grades) and an Associate's degree in Business. She has been working with Five Star for three years. Cindy likes camping, and spending time with her family.

Lynn McCoy (Classroom Instructor and Office Manager): Lynn teaches 6th grade at Hoosier Academy. She is a graduate of (Muncie) Northside HS and Ball State University with a BS and MA in Elementary Education. Lynn enjoys watching her sons' sports teams, camping, and reading.

Sandy McMillan (Classroom and Behind-the-Wheel Instructor): Sandy hails from Illinois and came to the Delaware Co. area in 1999. She is a graduate of Mt. Zion HS and attended Millikan University (Decatur, IL) where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Ed., Health and Driver's Ed. She is an Instructional Assistant with Delaware Community Schools. Her driver's ed experience spans fifteen years. In her leisure time Sandy enjoys cooking and taking care of her dogs.

Steve Reed (Behind-the-Wheel Instructor): Steve is a retired educator, having taught and supervised in a variety of positions at several schools. We are happy to welcome Steve to our team in 2018. Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and grandsons. He also enjoys golf trips with his friends.

Five Star Driver Education Center has been serving the driver's education needs of East Central Indiana since 2003. Initially founded by Larry and Julie Hobbs in Muncie, IN, Five Star continues the tradition of excellence with new owners, Brent and Liz Tinder. Brent has been a driving instructor with Five Star since its founding, which means students and parents can expect the same high quality service and student-friendly, flexible scheduling that have always been the trademarks of our driver's education program at Five Star. We have been voted Muncie Area's Finest Driver's Education school for the past consecutive nine years.
